NMRHA Open Competition Year-End Awards
Our year-end awards are presented to NMRHA members who compete in open all-breed competitions. A Working Western class is defined as any western class that assigns a score or a time.
To compete, a member must declare their divisions in which they wish to accrue points throughout the year. Open Competition points stay with the horse, regardless of the rider. Non-Pro and Youth are a horse/rider combination.
We offer prizes to the top three placings in each of five divisions, with an Open, Non-Pro and Youth category in each division:
- NRHA Approved Reining (any class from a sanctioned NRHA Show)
- Scored Non-Cow (included, but not limited to Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Western Dressage)
- Scored Cow Events (including, but not limited to Cutting, Working Cowhorse)
- Timed Non-Cow Events (including, but not limited to Barrels, Poles, Goat Tie)
- Timed Cow Events (including, but not limited to, Roping, Sorting, Penning)
The competition year runs from December 1st through November 30th. There is a $25 entry fee per category/division. You may enter more than one category/division. Entry form and entry fee must be submitted prior to first show. If more than 10 entries are received for a category, we will award more placings.
